Why Choose Me?
After 12 years of leading design for large companies and brands I have learned a lot of things.
Scalable designs are a must-have for your business.
My plan for designing scalable solutions for businesses and clients includes delivering UI solutions that support a number of different scenarios outside of the scope for the initial project or request. This will allow your business to add and remove content and elements from the design and the UI will be flexible to support it.
I can help you increase conversions and sales.
The decisions that I make are a balance between understanding your customers, the user’s needs, the technology and the goals of your business.
Here’s how I can boost your ROI:
- Reduce number of user errors
- Increase ease of use
- Increase ease of learning
- Increase traffic / audience size
- Increase number of return visitors when appropriate (retain users)
- Increase number of new visitors (attract users)
- Increase number of visits from search
- Reduce development costs
- Reduce development time
- Reduce maintenance costs
- Reduce redesign costs
- Decrease support costs
- Reduce training needed
- Reduce documentation costs
- Increase transactions / purchases
- Increase product sales
I understand how my designs will work with your system infrastructure.
What does this mean? This means that I understand how many top systems are built and I am fluent in the front-end programming languages that are used to execute my design solutions. You can be assured that I won’t provide deliverables that can’t be implemented and built with the tools and resources that are available to you.
My design solutions are lean and lightweight.
In other words, my design solutions are created to be coded lean. I always take performance into consideration, because lightweight UI’s with consistent patterns will always perform better for your end users. I focus on creating consistent design elements and defining proper design rules as a practice, and that provides your users with website and application controls that they are familiar with and are easy for them to use.
I turn deliverables and solutions around fast, because I am in direct communication with the business and my clients.
I’m comparing this to the layers of account managers that take notes in stakeholder and client meetings and then turn around and try to communicate requirements and direction to their design team. This is pretty standard for a lot of larger groups, and it serves to damper a lot of the communication between the client and the people designing the end solution while adding billable time to your business. So, you are paying more money, adding more time to the timeline, and increasing the chance that your feedback won’t be relayed clearly. With me, you’ll have a direct line of communication to ensure that business needs are clearly understood.
I have a strong background in Branding and Visual Design.
Not only can I design a strong UI solution, I can also add the aesthetic flair to the end result. I can create new brand standards for your business or freshen up your existing brand to create a clean and professional look that aligns with your company’s vision and makes you stand out.
I am adaptable to a number of different internal business processes to align with your internal process.
I have worked well in both waterfall and agile environments. Also, I have experience in integrating the UX process into an agile workflow to support 2-3 week sprint cycles that align with scheduled production releases.
I am a fan of data-driven design.
During the research and discovery phase of a project, I take a dive into my client’s analytics tools to gather the data needed to make smart and meaningful recommendations. I test designs against set benchmarks for success, and make sure that final data supports my design decisions.
