My Story

From a young age, my artistic talent was recognized by teachers who told my parents I was the most advanced student they had ever taught at my age. I loved drawing and painting—passions that have stayed with me to this day.

At eight years old, I was introduced to technology when my dad gave me an old Macintosh computer. Fascinated by how software worked, I set out to learn Basic C++ and eventually built my first Space Invaders game. That Mac still sits in my home today—a reminder of my early curiosity and drive to create.

My first encounter with the internet came at age 12 when our household got AOL Dial-up. I was so captivated by this new digital frontier that I began building and designing websites on Angelfire and Geocities. With only HTML and CSS at my disposal (and text-scrolling marquees as my only animation tool), I taught myself the fundamentals of web design and development.

After high school, I pursued a formal education in art and design, starting at an art university in Chicago before transferring to the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). At SCAD, I thrived in a highly competitive environment, surrounded by some of the most talented designers from around the world—many of whom remain close friends. I graduated in 2005, ready to turn my creative and technical skills into a career.

Career Journey

Following graduation, I combined my design education with my self-taught programming skills to lead the design and implementation of large eCommerce initiatives—before UX was even recognized as a discipline. This was also before platforms like IBM WebSphere Commerce, Magento, or Shopify existed, meaning large eCommerce sites had to be built from the ground up. I wasn’t just designing; I was coding, acting as both the architect and the builder.

Today, I am a Senior UX & Product Design leader and consultant. I have led design for enterprise applications, B2C and B2B platforms, SaaS products, AI-driven solutions, machine learning experiences, and augmented reality applications. My work has impacted millions of users across industries. I have also designed mobile apps, internal business software, and in-store kiosk configurators for major retailers like Bed Bath & Beyond, Lowe’s, and Macy’s—bridging the gap between technology and physical experiences, one of my core passions.

As a UX and product design leader, I believe in building experiences from the ground up. That means understanding foundational technologies like HTML, CSS, and React.js while also knowing when to rethink traditional approaches. My expertise spans Figma, Adobe XD, Miro, OmniGraffle, Sketch, Axure, and InVision, among other tools. I specialize in facilitating user research—conducting moderated sessions, synthesizing outcomes, and managing unmoderated tests using platforms like UserTesting.com, Optimal Workshop, Maze, Lookback, and ProtoPie.

I’ve worked in Agile environments for the past eight years and hold a ScrumMaster certification. My experience includes enterprise eCommerce platforms, new product development, and complex B2B and B2C solutions. I have a strong foundation in AI-driven design, focusing on integrating artificial intelligence and machine learning into user experiences. My work includes designing intuitive interfaces for AI-powered products, ensuring complex algorithms translate into accessible and user-friendly solutions.

I’ve collaborated with cross-functional teams to incorporate predictive analytics, personalization, and automation into enterprise platforms—always with a focus on usability and business outcomes. Ethical AI is a key pillar of my approach, ensuring transparency, inclusivity, and user trust while delivering cutting-edge solutions.

Passion & Approach

I thrive on innovation and enjoy working with businesses to solve design challenges that drive real impact. Whether leading a UX team, mentoring designers, or helping businesses craft exceptional digital experiences, I am deeply passionate about what I do. I love teaching UX, problem-solving complex business challenges, and creating seamless, elegant user experiences that align with business goals.

Beyond work, I’m a creative at heart. I spend time developing proof-of-concept ideas in technology and testing them in the real world. I’m also an animal lover, a mom to two French bulldogs (Luna & Athena), a travel enthusiast, a history nerd, an abstract painter, and a lover of great food, music, and deep conversations.

I believe in building meaningful relationships, and I’d love to connect—whether you’re a fellow UX professional or a business looking for design expertise. Let’s create something incredible together.
